Benefit & Advantage of Mini VRF Multi Split

A multi-head air conditioning unit, also known as a multi-split system, is a type of cooling system that consists of a single outdoor unit connected to multiple indoor units. Each indoor unit operates independently, allowing for individual temperature control in different rooms or zones within a building.

This setup offers flexibility and energy efficiency compared to traditional single-split systems, making it suitable for homes or buildings with multiple rooms that require independent climate control.

  1. Individually Controlled Cooling and Heating With Multiple Indoor Units: Multi-head split systems offer individualized temperature control for each room, improving comfort and energy efficiency by avoiding unnecessary cooling or heating.
  2. Better Energy Efficiency: Zone control capabilities enhance energy efficiency by allowing selective conditioning of rooms, along with programmable thermostats and fan speeds.
  3. Greater Cost-Effectiveness: Despite a moderate initial cost, multi-head split systems provide long-term cost-effectiveness through energy savings.
  4. Better Air Quality: These systems enhance air quality by trapping allergens like dust and pollen, reducing triggers for allergies and asthma.
  5. Quiet Operation: With the compressor located outside, multi-head split systems operate quietly indoors, providing a peaceful environment for occupants.

The Annual Energy Costs Of Common Central Heating Systems

The figures in the table are approximate costs per year. They’re based on an average existing pre-2005 house in a Melbourne climate, heating to 20°C. The calculations are based on an electricity tariff of 22.8c/kWh (peak) and 16.54/kWh (off-peak).

Natural gas tariffs are based on the standing offer of a major gas retailer using a typical “declining block” structure for a house with gas heating, water heating and cooking, which means more gas that is used during each billing period.

One of four companies that I contacted via a listing on a government webpage. Two answered and I choose Australian Green Solution. Pleased with my decision; communication was kept up through the process of applying via Solar Victoria etc and the installation was timely and faultless.

Had our new hot water system installed within 48 hours from contacting Australian Green Solutions. The plumber and electrician that came for the install were fantastic and gave my husband and I an explanation of what they had done and how the product worked. The process was a bit daunting at the start. We were sent 6 emails whilst on the phone to the consultant including 3 different quotes (whilst I understand there were rebates applied which changed the price and we were given different prices with/without the rebates). We were expected to read and understand all the emails being sent whilst on the phone. Once we had got off the phone and looked at the information we were happy to proceed but it’s a lot to take in whilst on the phone with someone. Maybe the process could be streamlined to combine everything into 1 or two emails/or give customers an opportunity to read through the material before proceeding. The other issue I will mention was we were then sent an invoice the night before and a reminder within a couple of hours of receiving my the invoice. I paid the invoice being worried the plumber/electrician might not show up the next day if I hadn’t paid. I was then asked to pay again on install (this wasn’t an issue as we showed them receipt of payment for the service/product). It may be better to explain to customers that the invoice shouldn’t be paid till after the install and maybe remove the reminder for repayment etc. Other than those two things we are overall happy with the product and the service we received. The consultant was very friendly over the phone and responsive to text messages and phone calls. We would recommend using this company.

Frequently Asked Questions

These Are The Most Commonly Asked Questions.

Opting for a hot water heat pump is a smart investment for homeowners seeking to reduce energy bills and environmental impact. These systems are far more efficient than traditional water heaters, as they utilise the ambient air to heat water, significantly lowering electricity usage. This efficiency translates into marked cost savings on energy expenses over time. Furthermore, by relying on renewable heat sources, hot water heat pumps help decrease the household's carbon footprint, contributing to environmental conservation. The combination of financial and environmental benefits, along with potential savings from energy rebate programs, makes upgrading to a hot water heat pump a compelling choice.

Yes, there are government incentives available for upgrading to hot water heat pumps in Australia, designed to encourage homeowners and businesses to invest in more energy-efficient technologies. These incentives vary by state and federal programs but often include:

  • Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) Program: In Victoria, residents can access discounts and rebates for installing energy-efficient products like hot water heat pumps, making the upgrade more affordable.
  • Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs): Nationwide, when you install an eligible hot water heat pump, you can create STCs, which can be sold to recoup a portion of the purchase and installation costs. The number of certificates created depends on the system's efficiency and location.
  • State-Specific Rebates: Other states may offer their own rebates or incentives for energy-efficient upgrades, including hot water systems. For instance, the Solar Victoria program provides rebates for the installation of solar hot water systems, which may include heat pumps in certain circumstances.

The savings on energy bills from installing a hot water heat pump can be substantial, depending on your current system's efficiency, your household's hot water usage, and other factors. According to Sustainability Victoria, households can see significant reductions in their energy consumption for water heating, which is often one of the largest contributors to household energy bills.

While specific savings can vary, Sustainability Victoria provides some general guidance. Upgrading to a more efficient hot water system like a heat pump can lead to savings of up to $200 to $700 annually on energy bills, depending on the old system's type and efficiency, the cost of electricity, and the amount of hot water used in the home.

Hot water heat pumps are particularly effective because they use approximately one-third the electricity of a traditional electric storage water heater to produce the same amount of hot water. The actual savings for your household would depend on the specific details of your situation, including the size and efficiency of the heat pump installed, your local climate, and your family's hot water usage patterns.
